- Subclass 491 (Skilled Work Regional): New incentives including a fast-track to permanent residency after just 2 years in regional areas.
- A brand-new "Tech Talent" visa stream with a 5-day processing guarantee for applicants earning above AUD $120,000.

The tech sector stands to benefit most, with 45,000 of the new places specifically reserved for ICT professionals. Companies like Atlassian, Canva, and SafetyCulture have been lobbying for these changes, citing an estimated 100,000 unfilled tech roles across Australia.
